We are a group of folks in Portland, Oregon who love to ride our bikes. Our primary goal is to share and promote a love of cycling. We are interested in helping local businesses, events, and advocacy get the word out.
We started Cycling Portland so we could pretend to be serious about this stuff. But it’s cycling so it shouldn’t be too serious, right?
Leann Warren
Chief Cyclist, Columnist
After a 10 year career as a runner, Leann took up cycling and has been pedaling around Portland ever since. She has raced competitively and participated in far too many ridiculously challenging rides such as The Death Ride, the Terrible Two Double Century, and the Shasta Super Summit Century. In her days as a runner she was a 10-time All American, winning collegiate titles in 4x400m, 800m, and 1500m. In her post collegiate career, she road raced in distances ranging from 5k to 15k, winning the National 8k Road title in 1989. She capped off her running career by running a 32:00 10k and pretty much hasn’t run a step since.
A native Oregonian, Leann was born and raised in Corvallis, graduated from the University of Oregon, and has lived in Portland since 1987. She has worked in radio at 101.9 KINK.FM for 24 years which explains why she is a little bit crazy.
